| The Shoultzes were in Portland this weekend, and Ethan and Gavin got the chance to play together. Here are some pics of the boys.
After this I said, "Gavin, put it on his head," and he did!
So funny! Then we took some family pictures, since we haven't taken any in ages.

| I came acrossed this article on msnbc and was so pleasantly surprised by its content. It's about making a marriage last, and the principles sound amazingly familiar. They're biblical principles (well, most of them anyway), however the Bible is never cited in the article. But, those of us who are married and are born again believers know that making a marriage work comes by more than just believing certain things and acting certain ways; it comes by the grace of God in our lives to allow us to become that selfless, committed, and loving partner to our spouse. You won't find anything about the grace of God or the Holy Spirit in the article, nonetheless, I thought it was worth sharing. It was encouraging that, in the midst of a culture that has turned its back on commitment, honesty, and selflessness, someone is shining a light on those virtues once again. | Sorry, I know it's been a long time since we updated so to catch you up . . . I (Jaime) am feeling better. I will still have to have my thyroid monitored for awhile, but I've been feeling pretty normal lately. Tim took on a paper route recently to help with finances for awhile, so he's wiped out most of the time because he's keeping odd hours. You can pray for him that he gets through this time okay. I feel so bad for him, but he's a trooper. Ethan has changed SO MUCH! He's on the verge of crawling, he weighs over 20 lbs now, he's finally starting to get hair, he eats a ton, and he's over the 100th percentile in length (the size of a 1 year old). Oh, and he has 2 teeth now and will be getting more any day now. Here are some pics to show you what he's up to these days . . . He still loves bath time
He loves his Aunt Bethany
He usually does well with eating, but not always
And he just loves to play and explore
He had lots of fun riding on his Daddy's back on my birthday outing
And he's just such a sweet liitle boy

| The doctor's office called yesterday and it turns out that I have hyperthyroidism. I'm relieved to know what it is, but I don't fully understand it all yet. I'm very relieved to know that the symptoms are not just "in my head." I will have to go see an endocrinologist for treatment. Basically, all I know is that my thyroid is in overdrive, which speeds up your metabolism, and makes your heart tend to race. My body has been in high gear, which is why I've been so exhausted. So many things make sense now . . . I've had some symptoms that I didn't even know were related; for instance, my hair has been falling out more, which I just thought was a post-pregnancy thing. I've also been dropping weight like crazy without trying, which I also thought was just due to breastfeeding and being busy. Well, I finally did get more pictures uploaded. My mom took some of me and Ethan today, so I'll put some of those up too. Hope everyone's doing great! PS Ethan is exactly 6 months old on March 26th!

| Something is going on with my body, but I don't know what. I've been feverish, tired, dizzy, light-headed, absent-minded, and my glands are swollen, my tonsils are swollen and spotty (but my throat isn't sore), and I've been bruising really easily. I finally went to the doctor last Thursday and they took some blood to run tests for Mono, anemia, and to check my thyroid. I shrugged off the symptoms for awhile, because tiredness seemed normal for a mom who was getting up every night at 4:30. However, Ethan has been sleeping 8 to 9 hours lately, and I've still been so tired. Anyhow, I'm waiting for my test results. I hope they find out what it is. I hate stuff like this. Tim's the best, though . . . he's such a blessing to me! He has been helping me so much with things around the house, and he's so encouraging. We got to go to 4 sessions of the Biblical Counseling/Discipleship training put on by NANC on Friday night for free. We've been through all of the sessions before, but it was refreshing to go through them again. The first 3 were on marriage, and the last one was on idols of the heart. God has been challenging me in the area of my marriage . . . I have to work harder at being a good wife now that we have a baby. It would be easy to get so wrapped up in mothering and forget that my most important earthly relationship is with Tim. I was asked to give a devotional at a bridal shower last week too, so I had just spent a lot of time in various scriptures on being a godly wife also. It's so great how God brings along the opportunities to be refreshed and reminded of just the truths you need at the times you need them. I was allowing some bad habits to creep into my communication with my husband, and God convicted me of them. By His grace, I will choose to love, serve, and respect Tim. Other than all that, we've been working hard at getting settled in and have enjoyed just being together and being a family. I'll upload pictures from our camera later and get them up . . . until then, here are 2 pics from my phone (one of Ethan, and one of the 2 of us chillin at home) and a little video Tim took the other day (it's a little fuzzy, again taken with a phone - we have a video camera and a digital camera, but those phones are just way too convenient!) . . .
